Ahhhh, summer! If you are in the Portland metro area, my friend Anastasia and I have put together a Summer Reset Workshop to help us all rest, recover, and reconnect with what’s important: our bodies and brains.
Summer Reset: Rest
Take a break from the chaos of summer! Join us for a chance to enter a quiet space and be led in gentle movements to help your body physiologically rest. These movements do not require any previous experience or knowledge. The focus is you and finding out what rest feels like in your body and in your brain.
Summer Reset: Recover
Take this opportunity to recover from the first half of the year. Anastasia will be teaching us a decompression sequence that we can take with us and use anytime we need to regulate our nervous systems.
Summer Reset: Reconnect
When we experience trauma and grief, we break the connection between the body and the brain in order to survive. This survival mechanism – like all of the others we use – works, until it doesn’t.
While my professionally certified yoga and pilates friend Anastasia will lead you in gentle movements, I will be in charge of teaching attendees about reconnecting the brain with the body. We will explore the practical ways that the brain and body work can work together, as well as how to make the most of what we know about changing the brain for the better.
The Nuts & Bolts
What we will do: Learn about regulating and grounding your nervous system using your body and your brain. This workshop is on Sunday, July 24th, from 2 to 4 pm.
The investment is $49 per person and there are (as I write this) only 10 more spots available. We will be gathering at Elk Rock Yoga in Milwaukie, Oregon.

About Anastasia
Anastasia is a movement therapist and certified yoga and Pilates instructor. She has been practicing movement for over 25 years and has been teaching since 2008. The guiding principal of Anastasia’s teaching is movement as medicine. Anastasia’s classes draw from many traditions, including classical and modern dance, martial arts, therapeutic movement, Pilates, and yoga in its many forms. Anastasia guides students to map their body, use movement to manage physical and emotional stress, shift injury patterns into healing modes, and to connect breath and movement to build integration and new neural pathways. She works with a diverse range of students from 1st graders to senior citizens, from students with significant mobility and neuro-diverse challenges to ballet dancers and athletes. In her classes, she weaves together philosophy, poetry, technique, and anatomy to create a holistic experience for her students. Read more about Anastasia and Bespoke Movement Arts here.
